das 6 vs pro vs pro plus

Featured Replies

Hi guys been looking at da polishers for a while and wondered which one would suit me the best really. I have never used a da before but doesnt look too difficult. Always done everything by hand.

So which one would you get and why?

It really depends on how much polishing youre going to do

If its very light swirl removal or glaze application, then you dont really need the Pro/Pro Plus version

Having said that...you may regret not getting it later andf may want to remove the odd deeper scratch or polish a mates' neglected car

But without experience and practice, it can cause damage if you dont know what youre doing!

If youve never used one before...You can 'Cut your Teeth' on the basic model, then sell it and buy the 'Pro' version later

Many of us experienced Detailers follow that route

Hope this helps

Thanks chris i'm edging towards the pro with megs 105 & 205 with hexlogic pads for £145 from cyc. Seems to be a good starter combo

If you need some instruction..Im not far away...Free of course

Thanks chris i'll give you a shout when i have ruined my paint ;)

From what i can tell from several videos its basically keep the pad moving and dont use too much product and to work in small areas

Good Choice Gav - that's the pack i have recommended to a few mates as well

The das pro plus is a very capable machine - you won't be disappointed.

Oh and don't forget the discount code - ie DW05 for 5% off  ;)

dont think you can go wrong with either machine.  The pro plus should correct a little faster, but whether that is worth the extra 50 notes i dont know.

There is a decent market for used polishers either way, so you'll get some decent cash back if you go for the cheaper pro and get the upgrade bug later.

Regarding technique just keep reading and watching videos like you are doing, but dont discount visiting an experienced enthusiast for a few pointers, yorkshire being the detailing hotbed of briskoda.

Thanks for the info everyone much appreciated. Thanks for the discount code too.

Do i need any other pads? Spot pads etc to go with it?

IMO - start with this kit from CYC, have a play and practice - learn the techniques..... then decide on any further purchases

Ok thanks

Can use spot pads on the pro but not on the pro plus. Pro is the more 'all round' machine.

Im looking at selling my pro if you are interested. Wanting to get myself a Flex or Festool.

PM me  if you are interested.
