skoda octavia 20v 1.8t (automatic) obd error p0322

Featured Replies

Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone could help me I have a 02 octavia 1.8t automatic a few days ago wen I got to my car it started normal after I stopped at asda when I tried to start the car the epc light and engine management light where on and the car wouldn't start after a few tries it started but with the epc light still on (engine light turned off) but in Neutral the car rpms where a bit high 1200 I drove a bit then stoped and restarted the car it started normal no lights on or anything it rubbed normal for a few days but now it started doing it more often so I checked with a friend who was a obd reader (simple one nothing professional) and when the car was doing it we plugged the reader and it came up with that error p0322 as anyone had this problem? Can you tell me what that is? And what's the solution? Thanks in advance to everyone :-)

If the car is reving upto 1200 on its own then going back down its the pcvalve had it on my Vrs easy fix.

The car revs to 1200 on it own when the epc light is on and after a few fail attempts to start if the epc light don't stay on the car starts normal and runs normal I read some where that the error code p0322 had something to do with engine speed sensor or crankshaft sensor

3rd party code readers don't always return the same codes as VCDS. The symptoms suggest an engine sensor or the throttle position sensor, but I'd suggest checking the VCDS forum to find a member near you who can get a better answer.

Ok so just now I was driving back to work and when I stopped at a round about the car just turned off on it's own with epc light on and didn't want to start I tried 2 times and it started again with epc light on this never appended before the car turning off on it's own I'm getting a bit worried now as the symptoms are gettin worst

Ok, that strongly suggests an engine sensor, but without fault codes we understand we'd still be guessing about which.

1.8T also has a G28 engine speed sensor as well, I had one go on my Vrs about 2 years ago, think the symptoms description is generic to cover everybody's problems all across the range.
