Inlet Air Temp Sensor/Ecotek

Featured Replies

First of of all big thanks to all who helped with my previous query. Can anyone tell me where I can find the Inlet Air Temperature sensor on the Fabia 1.4 2001. You may have guesed I have been told about the mod which apparently gives + bhp - as anyone tried it? does it work? Has anyone tried using an Ecotek thingy - any joy? did it work. Any opinions greatly appreciated. Now on my 4th Skoda! Favourit, Felicia x2 and now Fabia - luv em all! Thanks Chad.

put the ecotek in the bin and walk away from it

dont do it they dont work at all injected cars. they are just a waste of money and make you sound like a fool

The Advertising Standards Agency has said that there is no convincing evidence that the device works and Ecotek are now not allowed to advertise it as improving performance or economy. Unfortunately the adjudication is no longer posted on the internet. I did track down the gist of the ruling in the thread below posted on Euro Forum 2000, namely that:

"The Authority further understood that modern cars adjusted the air-fuel mix automatically and would compensate for any changes made to that mixture by the insertion of an air-bleed device"

"It understood that, in most fuel injected cars, if the car was overrunning, the fuel supply to the engine would be cut off. The Authority understood that the device was unlikely to have a great effect on engine performance. "
