5k mile and 70k mile OEM suspension valuation

Featured Replies

Guys,

I recently aquired some 5k mile suspension to replace the 70k old set in my 2009 59 TDi CR VRS saloon.

My question is, what is my old set worth, front struts have started to hiss a little but no other issues and what are my almost new set worth?

I am asking as I am toying with the idea of buying a new set of Bilstein B12's as Bilstein is just down the road from me and I would be able to get them tax free too as well as taking advantage of the GBP to Euro exchange rate.

Cheers :)

I would say around £50-100 as there is not much demand for used stock shocks and springs unless someone wants a vrs upgrade on non lowered model.

eBay sellers are selling old front struts for £50 each :|

you can get a new set of Bilstein B4 on german ebay for under £200 due to good euro exchange rate, so doesn't really make any financial sense to buy used shocks unless they are really cheap

70k are worth a 6 pack - probably best to bin the dampers & just sell the springs.  If you think they are getting sad then why would you foist them onto someone else?

5k are worth a carton or 2.

I live in Germany and the shocks were €90 and a further €10 for delivery.

I have decided I will put Eibach Pro springs on them to sit the car down a little as I dont want to have a modded car again to be hohnest, not after the ones I have owned. Had my fun, time to be sensible for a bit.

And I should add that the Eibach Pro Springs are only £80 with free delivery
