Easy removal of door trim and outer handle?

Featured Replies

Soooo... We just made ownership for just over a year on the Octy. Then my GF decided to put it agains a concrete pole in the shopping center's garage...

Luck would have it she got away with only bruising the door handle and not the side of the car.

At this point, I am thinking it could be made very easy, disassembling the door trim and get to the door handle, and give that to a suitable paint shop to get things in order. Usually such work is pretty straight forward, and can save us some money.

Then some questions:
I suppose so, but can someone verify these door handles is to be unscrewed from inside the door?

Are there any special considerations with typical sheet of plastic to secure water drainage / prevent leakage?

Can handle be removed without having to loosen the window and window frame railing
?Any other special considerations when going forward with such a task?

Thanks in advance guys!
