I'm finally changing my rims.

Tis true...

I'll be getting the Octavia 20V Turbo standard rims either tomorrow or the day after.

The service manager who used to work at the dealer's here left the car he used to drive (which belongs to the company), a modified 1.6 Octavia with a vRS kit and the 20V Turbo 16" multi spoke rims...always liked them rims...

Now he's gone, and the workshop foreman now drives it. And I've also managed to convince the general manager to give me the rims and give mine in in replacement...a trade-in almost...and the only thing I gotta do is buy new 195/65/15 tyres for them which they will have to fit onto the Octavia, as that is the standard size for 15s on it. I don't pay for nothing else, I get it fitted free too :)..they see my car as an advertisement for the dealership on wheels, as it's the only one here...

One thing though....the tyres...

The ex-service manager had 225/45/16 tyres on it...and they look fantastic on the Octavia, especially since he dropped it like 60mm...

Will the work on my black beauty? I know I should have 205/45s or 215s max, but I really do not want to spend on another set of tyres, plus these ones are actually new. Remember I've dropped mine 40mm too.

225's will be to wide for the Fabia i'd expect.

Also the correct size for 16's in 205/45 R16

205/45 16

225/45 16

Thats a 56mm difference in circumferance or 3.05%

I thought so...

Thanks Ross. I'll be getting them tomorrow I think...I hope anyway. I gotta go to Abu Dhabi in the morning and I have no idea when I'll be back, but I'm gonna try and make it early to get those rims fitted!

I ain't gonna spend on more tyres for the time being, so I'm just gonna have to stick with the wide tyres for a while..

They wont only be wider, they will be a fair bit taller.
