Is this genuine?

Got sent This today , is this for real?

Dear Adam Hedges

To help protect you from junk e-mail (spam), we periodically ask customers to verify that a person, not an automated program, is using your MSN Hotmail account.

We need you to complete this verification. Your Hotmail account is temporarily unavailable until the verification is done

To verify that your account is not being used by an automated program, go to MSN Hotmail and sign in as usual. You'll see a picture that contains letters and numbers. Type those letters and numbers to complete the verification, and you can then use your MSN Hotmail account.

For more information about sign-in verification, click Help in the MSN Hotmail sign-in box, and read the topic Matching the picture.

Thank you for helping us to reduce junk e-mail!

Sincerely,

MSN Hotmail Staff

It's from [email protected]

Indeed my e-mail has stopped, but Just checking this is not a hoax!

I'd log in to MSN directly first, than follow any email links. :)

Same with Paypal / Ebay on similar theme.

Sounds real enough, assuming that's your name and your account has stopped working. ;) Just be wary of e-mails asking for you to send personal details, PINs, or containing links to web sites to help you send them, as they're unlikely to be the website you think they are. :D

Chris

i've nver been askied to do that.

but then, i use my account at least twice a day. Minaly to clear out the spam...

But it does sound fairly legit,

DO as jason said - login to hotmail directly, not via a link.
