second hand cobra suspension coilovers or new FK AK STREET coilovers what is the best buy

Featured Replies

hi i just got an offer to buy a secondhand coilover kit from my cars previous owner

its a cobra suspension coilover kit named: cobra suspension SF-7011-VA  908017 GT

its in working condition but its  been driven in the winters i guess cause its pretty rusty.  but i would refurbish them  powder coat the springs and sand blast and paint the rest to if i buy them.

these were 725 euros i think when they were new  so i guess they wouldent be cheap crap atleast

but they have been used for many years. 7 years i believe  so my question is.  is it better to buy and refurbish these coilovers that is a good brand  or is it better to buy new set of

FK AK STREET COILOVERS ???

it would cost me about the same price for any of these 2 coilover kits  with the refurbishing cost included

here is some pics of the cobra suspension ones

Personally I wouldn’t waste your money on them they look ready for the bin.

yes i know they look rusted out.

but they have  been working fine for 7 years  and still works good, thats why im thinking of buy these and refurbish them but im not sure

its between them and fk ak street coilovers

After 7 years of use I would suggest that the shocks would be well and truly shot and therefore not an economical refurb. Would deffo buy new in your situation.
