I was a little disappointed, but not too aggrieved that my SE is a 2015MY (built approx April 2015), therefore no Apple carplay - I have full functionality playing music from my iPhone, using the USB function anyway.

 

I do still have queries though - I can't find my SD card slot in the glovebox - does it definitely have one?! Also, can I use the USB to view pictures (I do have "Images" on the main menu, but it doesn't seem immediately compatible with the fairly standard JPG files on my iPhone)? If it turns out that I do have an SD card slot, am I more likely to be able to view images using that?

It's in the glovebox in the top right hand corner as you open the lid at the front, it's quite tucked away but it's definitely there.

I can view images using USB from my LG G3.

Comes up with a file browser type menu for me when selecting.

Wouldn't know about iPhone. Been such a long time since I had one. Can you actually file browse via usb on a PC now? This may be the limitation.

Curiously, using the SD card slot on my March 2015-supplied model 110 SE L estate (Bolero system)to play music works perfectly, but when I tried I could not get it to recognise pictures from that source. IIRC the photos are in standard (JPEG)format. As I was unlikely to require that function I didn't bother and didn't pursue it, but it would be interesting to know if anyone has succeeded and the format in which the photos were saved to the card.

Thanks guys - yes I can file browse iPhone pics on PC using USB (they are only JPGs), but though I have full functionality with my iTunes, I cannot display any pics.

 

Has anybody managed to view pics from the SD card? (Would anybody with an SD card please try this to avoid me buying one unnecessarily?)  If so, what format were the pics in, and can you select one to use as a "screensaver" on the Bolero screen?

Yup, can view images from SD card and via USB. All the images ive tried are .Jpg images.

Try a usb memory stick and see if that works.

Haven't seen any options to set an image as a screensaver.

Does anyone have any videos of how the Spotify app operates via AndroidAuto?

Hi. I saw a video on the sonata with Android Auto (YouTube-I don't have the link right now). It's pretty easy you can on the screen when you press play you can chose with Google play music (or an other program) like Spotify. All is smooth :-) and seems easy
