Thinking of buying 2.0PDI Superb........

Hi Darryl. Can I suggest you do the following. Fix the plenum chamber ASAP.

Park the car on level ground. Put tha passenger seat as far forward as possible. Open the rear near side door and in the footwell, you'll see the floor air vent. Press your middle and index fingers between the front edge of this and the carpet, and then push your fingers down so you can feel the floor pan. If it's wet in there you've got the problem an you need to get the carpet up and the water out. The fix is the priority.

I hope you get this fixed up nice Bigotts - needed some TLC but if you have time and patience (and a bit of spare cash lol) should make a nice car again.

Also just to add, if I bought it first thing I was going to have done was oil pump drive as a preventative measure.

There is a firm near Sheffield called KMB Direct who supply and fit upgraded balance shaft gear and oil pump drive for £560 all in. Not exactly a cheap fix but better than having to fork out for a new engine....

...and Turbo, pipework, intercooler...

Of course if oil pump fails will also take out turbo and potentially damage other stuff......

Wow thanks guys for the heads up. I'd had better start saving first thing I'm doing its the pollen filter problem cheapest fix.then book in for cambelt change.

Yes, stop the water coming in. That's the priority.
