  1. I tried this when I first got the car and it made no difference, hence getting the XLR was a revelation.
  2. It’s linked to RDS/DAB service/s I believe; I’ve certainly never had to intervene on changing to/from DST.
  3. I cannot imagine there’s any reason why one would rely on a camera to control a car moving at 70mph on a motorway for 10 seconds, let alone use a system like this for a minute. It’s insanity.
  4. We that’s odd, cos it does on our 2016.
  5. I think that’s because of the +80bhp you have under your right foot, mate! I’ve had the XLR set to R+ for a couple of years now (I only have +50bhp) and you do adjust to the performance improvement very quickly. On the other hand, Sport mode on the car with R+ is completely nuts and I’ve rarely used it. And of course the complete lack of throttle lag with the XLR, including in Normal mode, is brilliant.
  6. Check the door drains. Is there any sign of water in the boot? Also, you should have the AC on all the time. Generally, you have colder weather with more moisture in the air up there and AC removes the moisture from the air in the cabin; it’s not just to reduce temperature.
  7. Wow - use ‘em all winter! I have mine on 3 when needed. The only time I can hear the fans really operating - and this is odd - is when I pull away, as it seems to be connected to the vehicle speed somehow, as it seems to boost the fan speed as the revs rise.
  8. It also depends on the station you’re listening to. I get very few issues with all the BBC stations, but if it loses reception it automatically switches over to FM. The only aggravation i have is the lllllloooooooonnnnnnng tiiiiiiiimmmmmmme it takes to bloody boot up! 😂
  9. Fantastic @bigjohn! Thank you for the pics. 👍🏻
  10. I’ve been using a dashcam for 11 years and I can categorically say it has had a positive impact, on my driving style. Having a camera in your car cuts both way, because it records everything you do in terms of speed, braking and risk. Fitting the rear camera is for exactly the reason @Matchman55 points out.
  11. @nicknorman It’s the usual cr@p Skoda dealers spout to try and avoid warranty claims, so blame the owner for cleaning a car with this, that and the other for damaged trim, bodywork and wheel discolouration. Alloys get worm because the layer of lacquer is so thin and it fails to get complete coverage; they need at least three coats. Bright trim obviously suffers similar issues. Whilst I’d accept that “hand car wash” sheds might use really poor products, good retail Snow foam is PH neutral and would never cause that type of fogging of the trim and it certainly does not strip LSP or coatings.
  12. I’ve just bought one of these and now I’d to find out if anyone has any advice on fitting the darn thing! 😂 I already have a hardwired Nextbase dashcam. Any advice, pitfalls or guides most welcome. I have done a search and found a couple for an estate but not a hatchback.
