Hi guys after some help for a friend. He's got a 2011 octy with faulty indicators. Sticking on,,, flashing quickly now on my mk1 I know it's " normally " hazard switch but this one when hooked up is saying " anti theft " device .

Anyone got any ideas

When you say "sticking on" are you saying that the indicator stalk is off and the indicators remain on?

 

How long are they sticking on for?

 

Is it both sides, or just one. Are the hazard lights affected also?

 

I assume you have checked for fault codes which hinted at the 'Anti-theft Device'?

 

The indicators flash when you lock and unlock the car, is this feature working as expected?

It isn't simply the 'comfort indicator' feature is it? A gentle press of the indicator stalk results in three flashes of the indicator, which continue even with the indicator stalk in the off position, designed for changing lanes on the motorway without having to manually turn the indicators on and then off again.

 

There are also issues with faulty CCM's (usually when aftermarket HID kits are fitted) that result in the front indicator staying on, even with the ignition turned off, I've only heard of this on the vRS model though.
