Carista App

Featured Replies

I'm trying to use just my fog lights as DRL's but there is no setting on the App to do this from what I have tried. I don't want side lights, low beams or rear lights on at all, is this possible on the Pre-FL using VCDS or this App???

I have fogs as drl's on my pre fl VRS

It's North America settings with fogs reduced to 60%

Was done with VCDS

Thanks for that.

Just tried with the App now but there is no option for the North American setting or reduced fogs, I'm guessing only VCDS can do this.

Right, I've managed to get the fogs on solely as DRL's but they are only active with the handbrake off, it took some fiddling to work this out but I did it in the end, just need to reduce the brightness to 60% now using VCDS.

Yes that's how they work. Just with the handbrake off. Got mine on 55% but I didn't use Carista I did it through the Polar-FIS on the maxidot.

Unfortunately my 2005 Flintstones Octavia does not have Maxidot so VCDS it is. Surprising that the Carista App allows for the fogs to be set up as DRL's but does not reduce the output to make them legal??

Is it possible to use some 24v h1 bulbs to reduce the brightness of the fogs they should be a fair bit dimmer with a 12v supply. Not sure if it would generate a bulb indictator on the dash or not?
