Am planning on plasri dipping the chrome on my front grill,

How do people do it , do you mask off everything bar the chrome ?

Do you do the black insert grill aswell?

Put something infront of cooler/ic and use a good masking tape that wont left any glue/residue.

If you get plastidip spots, let it dry and use a microfiber and wipe it of.

Put 3 layers of black and let it dry after each layer.

Spray a 4th layer with black and dont let it dry just spray one layer glossifier.

Tip when you apply glossifier is to hold it closer to the surface.

After 3 layer of glossifier remove the masking asap.

Let it dry and gently use a heat gun. The glossefier are sticky!

Use meguiars nxt tech wax, apply easiest with papertowel (microfiber will catch or scratch the dip) to remove the stickyness.

Now its ready for the road again

To be honest it's quicker replacing the chrome surround with the black surround. It only took me about 20 mins

Took aprox 2hours to dip roof, front spoiler and badges and I'm happy with the results. I'm thinking about to color match the emblem with white and black next time.

After having a mare of a time painting the badges black i think you may be right matey , it works out at £55 delivered from superskoda .

Pretty sure they are only about £40 from main dealers. Rainworth Skoda are selling them through their eBay shop for £45 delivered.

Buy it from the main dealers its cheaper than that!

Will ring my local tps on monday as we get discount through them .

If you want to save the chrome surround it's usually a bumper off job, if your not bothered about it the chrome surround can be broken off and new black surround just clips back in
