Looking for a bit cleaning advice

Featured Replies

I bought a White Fabia Monte Carlo, gloss black trim around the edge and roof. I'm looking for any help or advice on the skoda paint, what's the best Washing product and sponges to use. Any help would be muchly appreciated!

Is the car candy white or moon white ?

it's like a bright white if you know what I mean?

Lol love the description,I have a candy white, black "edge trim" fabia 2 vrs. I use the "2 pound for six minutes" self clean at Sainsburys and other outlets. Dry by what ever means you prefer. After advice here, Fusso car coat for light cars, follow instructions and twice a week general wash over with afore mentioned jet spray. The Fusso polish should last 12 months before reusing but opinion suggests a second polishing a week later does no harm.

Agreed, don't use a sponge for the bodywork, you will regret it!

I have one of these http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/85241/kent-2-1-noodle-wash-mitt and it does the job fine. Plus use a ph neutral shampoo or something like this http://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-cleaning/shampoo-polish-wax/zymol-natural-car-wash-1-42l

+1 to this.

And the 2 bucket method too!

But it depends how far you want to go with it..

I regret getting onto car care section on here, cost me hundreds.

You could even take it the full Monte (Fabia pun)

Snow foam and APC

2BM wash

De Tar

Wash

Clay

Polish

Wax / sealant

Seal wheels, plastics, glass etc

Clean and treat interior.

Brilliant fun but a waste of a Saturday. Advantage is that a quick hose off will then suffice for a few weeks in my case.

I wouldn't go as far as that haha I don't have that much time haha but with it been nice and a good looking car it deserves to be kept clean so a weekly wash and polish will do me! But unfortunitly someone never payed attention to new road layouts and they came into the side of me, it's only surface damage with a bit on the alloy but I'm devastated!
