Hi the amber power steering light has suddenly come on whilst I was driving at low speed and the steering went heavy .

switched the engine of and restarted it and all appears well -  whats wrong .

Poor battery or alternator, or it could be an issue with something like the steering angle sensor.

Get the car scanned for fault codes, even though the light has gone out a fault code should still be stored.
