Outside ambient air temp censer

Featured Replies

Hi can anyone help? Engine management light came on and when plugged in it said outside ambient air temp problem which would make sense as it wasn't working some of the time. Anyway I bought one had it fitted and all seemed OK only for it to start reading crazy temps like -30 and changing every few mins and engine management light is back on. When plugged in it says the o a air temp censer again?? Any ideas car still runs fine?

Meant to say it's a skoda octavia 1.6 tdi 61plate

Why does your car have an incense burner? And why would that affect the engine running anyway? ;)

Anyway, seriously, if you've replaced the sensor and still have the fault code I'd think it must be the connector, wiring, or earth point that's actually at fault.

Lol Ken , it's just the fact I've paid garage to fix it and they seem avoid of any ideas. Thanks for your help

Outside (Ambient) temperature sensor has nothing to do with engine management or the engine running. It is used for A/C and the temp gauge on the dash display.

I imagine the fault is probably one of the very common DPF Exhaust temperature sensors? I think you need to find a new garage
