Haldex controller issues?

Featured Replies

Gentlemen and ladies,

I have around 3 weeks ago bought a Mk2 2005 Skoda Octavia 1.9tdi 4x4 estate and it has so far amazed me.

This morning driving down the motorway at around 65mph three lights have appeared on the dash, Steering, ABS and ESP. My local garage have put it on the snap on machine and codes stated are:

00003 Control Module Malfunction intermittent
02248 Valve for controlling clutch operating angle (N373) malfunction intermittent

Now my previous Audi's were torsen gearboxes etc so not many electronics and I could do the little bits and bobs but these faults have my mind boggled.

I have read through many threads but they take me off the subject and actually scare me into thinking that this car will not cost thousands to put right :(

The car does have 166k and full but not main dealer history and has been fine until today.

Would any of you guys be able to assist?

Many thanks

Would that be the ABS control module on a car of that age? It's quite a common fault if so and I believe a repair kit is available.

Replacement modules are quite pricey though....

Vegasphil, thanks for the reply

I will get the garage to look into too as there are so many conclusions to the two fault codes associated with the three lights

Got all the fault codes today:

00290 ABS wheel sensor malfunction rear left

01324 4 - WD ECU - J492 Read trouble codes

01155 Clutch mechanical malfunction intermittent
00003 Control Module malfunction intermittent

00988 Lamp for brake light right electrical problem in circuit

Looks like a weigh bridge job :(

Does anyone have a diff controller unit available?

Sounds like failing Haldex controller, they usually throw multiple codes,

Yu need to find a good used part from a known supplier.

Thanks for the info

I don't really know much about these about these cars and trying to find a second hand parts supplier who does not want to bend me over a barrel is proving difficult.

I have managed to find one but its off a 60 plate Audi S3.

part number 2k0907554b sw:5007 hw:h43 And Then say HA1

Is this ok?

Best phoning Skoda and getting a part number to cross reference

I think a 2010 Audi S3 will have the Gen 4 Haldex and yours the Gen 2 in which case the ECU won't be suitable.

Sorry about all the questions.

Could the coupling off the S3 Gen 4 be fitted to the rear diff?

Thanks

I doubt it as all the electronics will be different.

Thanks Softscoop, I have bitten the bullet and bought a complete rear diff inc Gen 2 Haldex controller.

And now the steering light has started to flicker!!

I could have bought a brandnew car at what this is costing to put right.
