How do I???????

Featured Replies

remove a file called W?nword.exe from my PC. It keeps appearing on my antivirus under system32/w?nword.exe but I can't find it anywhere. I've stopped it from accessing the internet with my firewall but really want it gone for peace of mind.

You got hidden files showing???

Hi there,

Yes I have them showing and still cannot find it anywhere

Have you tried to remove it with your pc in safe mode?

Yes i have tried that as well I just cannot find it anywhere, it is as if it doesn't exist but it does. Looking at it though it does not appear on my processes list on task manager anymore so maybe it's just an empty file somewhere now??

Is the w?nword.exe perhaps stored within one of the system restore points?

Have a loof through your registry setting in the runonce subkey you may fing it there. I found a viruss path lurking there once when fixing my sisters pc.
