Rattle when closing doors

Featured Replies

When shutting the doors or bootlid theres a tinny rattle from the rear of my car. Anyone else experienced this? Cant seem to pin point it.

Hi mate, have you had a look under the car at exhaust heat shield ect...? By the sounds of it, its nothing serious tbh jst sumthing loose/moving about

I'd be getting the boot panel liner off for a butchers as well, you'll have plenty of fun getting it back on too. Just focus on exactly where you can hear it, without hearing/seeing it's pretty hard to say...

Lol yes boot panels are a ****! Mines is in my garage :-)

You may find this is a rubber flap over the rear air vent from the interior that I think is behind / under the bumper somewhere...   you close the door and it pushes the flap open and makes it rattle a bit - we have the same on our Mk 2 very now and then

Glad it's not just me then! Piece of crap fell off a few days after I got the car, thought no drama I will just pop it back on.... an hour later it was on and holding but not perfect! Lasted until 6 weeks ago when I was getting something from boot and it fell off and hit me on the back of the head........  :|  :swear: I should be safe for another year and a bit before it is due to depart again!

Advice to OP check everything else you can think of first! Having just changed the friggin window regulator on drivers door after a cable snapped, one thing to think about also are the cables for the regulator not being attached to their wee clip grommets and smacking off the bottom of the window. If it's more pronounced when window(s) down, be a good place to check too.
