Morning (afternoon or evening depending...)

 

I bought my October 2014 2.0 Superb SE estate in August this year, just before "the scandal" broke.

 

I hesitate to say that (so far) it's the best car I've ever bought, actually the only car I've ever bought but I think it's the best car of all I've had. I've had many company cars from an Austin 1800, Morris Marina, I was Mondeo Man for a while, etc etc until my last car company car - a Honda Accord SE.

 

Now that I've given up working for a living I needed a car to pull our caravan and so I(we) trawled the West Midlands looking for a car that would do the job that we both liked.

Tried out nearly every car there was around - none felt right somehow. A friend suggested a Yeti so with some trepidation we toddled to ou local Skoda Dealer. "The Wife" didn't like the Yeti we specifically went to see (she's never said why other than it didn't feel right, as she had on so many cars we looked at) and just before leaving the site we spotted the Superb that had just come in tucked away up a corner. We looked around it and bought it there and then - well haggled a bit first obviously.

 

Do I care about "THE CHEAT"? Not really. Emissions (I'm sorry to say) never entered my head. In fact I was fully expecting a high road tax value and the icing on the cake was when the salesman said it was only £30. If this alters and Skoda/VW pick up the bill then "Hooray" bo be honest, it seems such a good car (one or two niggles which will probably end up being me not fully understanding the workings - I'll post about these later in the owners zone) that I would pay the extra VED if I had to.
