  1. If this was a Zafira VXR the engine code for them is Z20LEH but the earlier turbo engines were C and/or Z20LET, I can only assume but if you're incorrect with the poorly chosen Violet resemblance, then it might be V-Vauxhall 20LET I have also seen J8 URK on a 911 S333 WRX - Subaru Impreza I tried to buy KA12LOS but it went for silly money and its now on a Mercedes JU57 LKY is on a Tesla ELE 110R - Ford Mustang I've seen loads more on my travels, but not able to save them on my phone due to driving.
  2. call skoda parts and ask them a price then call TPS (Trade Parts Specialists) (search TPS Skoda parts it’ll come up) and they’ll generally be a better price but not always failing that get the part number from 7zap or Catcar websites so you can search them on eBay as you’ll be surprised what you can find on there I’ve recently purchased a brand new rear bumper for an 07 estate without parking sensors (Very rare bumper)
  3. I’ve currently got an 07 VRS that I’m putting a front end on. Do not buy a second hand wing, here’s why. From factory they have panel bond put on then where the wing meets the corner of the windscreen. This means that when the panel is getting removed, nearly always they get bent. pattern wings are available on eBay, I’m not sure you’d want to go that route either but they can be a cheap option. As for the front bumper, you may struggle to find a used one that someone is willing to post for you, as bumpers are very expensive to post now. As for the wheels, there are a set in the for sale section.
  4. From what I read on the pictures is that both control modules in the rear doors are not functioning. I would start with a fuse. Then onto whether it’s receiving power. If the module receives power, module may have gone faulty If the module isn’t receiving power, I’d look to the door wiring. The wiring between door and chassis can become frail and they do break from time to time and this can solve all of the electrical issues in one fix. for them both to have gone like this in a short period of time, is a little unusual though. good luck with it
  5. MAF sensor if this car has one (which I think it does) They tend to go partially faulty and then suddenly give up, leaving you at the side of the road. When you say it can be felt in the throttle, do you mean that if you put your foot down, you don’t get much response? Is it like it’s hesitant and then it’ll pick up slowly or picks up suddenly? If you suspect it could be this part, buy a genuine replacement as they’re a lot better and last a lot longer than pattern parts
  6. From memory, the DSG dealer service is £199. This sounds expensive and for what is essentially a gearbox oil service it does seem that way, but only the dealer or a good VAG mechanic have the software for the mechatronic reset. So it’s worth the expense if you don’t know a decent VAG mechanic with the knowhow. Most mechanics won’t know the mechatronics need a reset
  7. You can definitely pick them up cheap enough and certainly around your budget, but they’d probably have around 50,000 miles on the clock. I paid £13,500 in 2015 for our 12 reg blackline estate, with 27,000 on the clock through a main dealer. I sold it back to a dealer a year later and I’d only lost £1000 over that year, however, I’d negotiated a great price for their Superb elegance, so it meant I’d got our new car significantly cheaper. The estates seem to hold their value, or at least demand a bit more of a premium. I’d certainly make the jump if it’s an itch you want scratch as they’re a great car to drive and full of comforts
  8. How did you get on with this? Bit late, but remember that the DSG gearbox needs servicing every 40k
  9. Do you have the rear sensors and the wiring available? As the rear bumper looks to have blanks in the sensor holes? Am I right? If you have the sensors and wiring, I’d be interested in the rear bumper, to include sensors, wiring, both reflectors and the covers under the rear lights. I’d also take the front Grille
  10. This is what I thought. when looking at that Diagram of the VRS variant, it’s clearly shows the bumper like mine. my issue is that if I order a new one, I’ll need to order reflectors, and potentially the trim pieces that sit under the rear lights as I can’t remember if I’ve got them or not. with a used one, it’s fairly good as the small bits tend to come with it all
  11. Afternoon all, The yellow rear bumper was on my 07 VRS estate when I bought it, and I cannot find one without parking sensors ANYWHERE! I can’t fix the bumper, as it has now been binned, I know i could've had it fixed, but it was a rash decision on my part doh! You’ll see from the two bumpers, that one has the top indentation between the reflectors, and the other doesn’t. Picture from the Octavia in the Breaking thread has this rear bumper.... Will it fit/mount the same as my original bumper? I know the black one has sensors (or blanks) and although I really don’t want to add sensors, I will if it’s a cheap and straight forward addition. (I have access to VagCom) my main worry is that these bumpers have just a slight variation, but o don’t want that to be a problem in the fitting stage. Can anyone tell me which part I need (part number) and where is best for me to source it from. I’ve tried TPS and they’ve given a quote of £235+VAT so I’d like a used one as I’m respraying the car anyway, or if one of you lovely people know where I can get one, that would Ben great. Many thanks Thanks
  12. At this stage, I’d have removed the badge and bought a spray can as that looks terrible. You don’t want to be polishing anywhere near those edges and it’s not going to look much better than that I’m afraid. Maybe over a few months of hand polishing the milky areas will get better.
  13. We looked at the Sharan, and it’s VERY under specked for a car of that size. On our Alhambra, we specked, Keyless entry, 18” wheels, Towbar, and our car, the SE LUX came with the 187ps engine, DSG gearbox, a Panaramic roof with full sun blind, full leather front seats heated, DAB radio with rear camera, electric tailgate and rear doors, paddles on the steering wheel, front and rear PDC and a whole bunch more. Our Alhambra is the best speck we could’ve made it and the standard features were amazing for the £2999 initial payment plus the options.
  14. Firstly, this can be a very stressful time in the motability process, we know it fairly well, so slow down and take things slowly. We found out through a family member, that if you call Motability, they ‘can/may’help you towards the initial payment. We put £6k down on our Seat Alhambra with a few options back in 2016 as a calculated decision that we would have the car for a VERY long time as, at that time, you were still able to finance the remainder of the car and keep it. However, that has since changed and we didn’t get the most out of that car, so we had two choices, 1, you can buy the car outright - we didn’t have the money, so it wasn’t an option 2, you can extend the vehicle for up to 2 years. - so we extended it. Motability will allow you to keep the car for 5 years, plus with Covid, they’re extending again so you DO NOT need to worry about getting an order in straight away, just tell them you’d like to extend the car. You are also allowed to order a vehicle at ANY time, as long as you have 12 months left on your award at the time of placing your order. My wife has the same issue as yourself, with getting into cars, that’s why the Alhambra was perfect for us, plus we needed the seats. Seat are no longer going to make the Alhambra, so we have been left with the predicament of WHAT CAR NEXT!? I’ve been having a really good look through the cars that are currently available and for us, as we still want the option for 7 seats, our ideal car to order next would be the Seat Tarraco. We have found that Seat’s come with a lot more on the Spec list and you get a LOT more for your money than if you went with a VW or Skoda. I really like my Skoda’s as we have had several, but at the moment, Seat seem to be the better option. Whilst there are many different options available on the Motability website, try and narrow them all down to the things you like in a vehicle. For example. My wife really needs heated seats as she suffers with the cold, so if the vehicle hasn’t got it a set standard and I can’t get it as an option within budget, I move on. I really like cruise control and I use it ALL the time, so it’s a must from me, luckily most cars come with it now. One of the other things for us is TOWING, we need to put a tow bar on our vehicles as it’ll pull our utility trailer that we use for our camping holidays and the kid seems bikes, as well as helping friends etc. So we look for the prices on adding towbars etc and this is ALWAYS, really expensive.
