Fitted OEM bluetooth module

Featured Replies

As the title, fitted the Bluetooth module I picked up off of ebay and its working fine as far as I'm aware. Having a bit of difficulty trying to locate the module either behind the climate controls or the glove box.

Anyway, connected 2 phones (iphone 5 and htc one mini 2) and it imports the phone books and works fine. Is there anything else that it can do? Read a bit about Bluetooth streaming, how does that work?

Thanks, Drew.

What head u it are you running it with?

Should've put that in my first post, eh?

It's a bolero.

The module is normally located under the passenger seat in a foam holder. Ideally you should get it coded for it to function fully.

As far as I know it is fully functioning, just hoping someone who has more knowledge on the matter could enlighten me if it wasn't. Basically I don't know what it should do.

When I fitted my bluetooth module to my old unit (bolero) it did not read the phone book correctly by reading the names and numbers. I also got it coded so it enabled the phone menu in the maxidot in the cluster.

I don't have maxidot, so is that the extent of the modules features?

Factory fitted it goes under the driver's seat.

Get it coded in with VCDS and clear the fault codes. I doubt you'll get any more functionality than control from the Maxidot though

Out of curiosity, how does the module/foam protector secure under the seat?

Velcro pads

Sent from my Galaxy S5

Factory fitted, it has a metal cradle that is screwed to mounting points in the floor.

I originally had my BT model retrofitted into a foam cradle and the velcro never held very well; so I went to the proper kit.

No way it was going to move then!

In my phonebook, contacts are saved as John Smith, but when going through the phone book via the bolero it is displayed as Smith John. Is this something that can be sorted with a scan/fault clear?

Not had the time to get it checked out with VCDS yet, due to working offshore.

Some modules can be changed with VCDS. I've not found one that can though...

Ah well. Tough t*ts then...
