Fitting front splitter

Featured Replies

I have just bought this front splitter: http://www.maxtondesign.co.uk/product/octavia-ii/front-splitter-octavia-2-fit-only-for-octavia-2-rs-after-facelifting.html

The fixings it comes with are machine screws, washers, nuts and Glue.

There are predrilled holes on the splitter, but in order to fix the nuts on the bolts I need access to the top of the underside of the bumper.

This looks like a bumper removal job -  out of my league.

has anyone fitted this with this type of fixing as opposed to self tappers, and any recommendations for a body shop, price, around west kent?

Also, can you notice any difference when driving at motorway speeds

Thanks

I've got the super skoda one but sounds similar fitment. I removed the lower grill which just pulls out and unscrew then pull the arch linings back plenty of room to work with.

Thats great, thanks VrsStebuzz

Saved me a few quid. I will attempt at weekend. Did you use the glue as well as the bolts?

Any different at speed?

All the best

I can't get the middle lower grill off - does not pull out. The two side grills pull out, but cannot access the bumper through it.

I can access from the top with bonnet open though. Will attempt tomorrow,

I have the Superskoda one and I just took bumper off as it takes no more than 5 minutes to remove... once off lined the splitter up drilled 6 wholes and bolted up bumper on easy

Finally done it today! Bumper removal fairly straightforward as long as you try to disconnect everything whilst the bumper is released and pulled forward slightly to allow access.

I made the mistake of attempting to disconnect fogs, drls, and washers before removing bumper. Also, having a mate handy also helps!
