I've just noticed tonight that if I leave the head unit on and remove the key then

2H flashes up for a couple of seconds. I had a quick flick through the skoda manual and it does not state anything about this.

Can anyone shead some light on this strange message for me.

It's just letting you know that it will turn itself off in 2 hours to prevent the battery running down

I don't think that is correct. When you remove the key the radio goes off straight away, at least in my Superb it does. You may be confusing the system whereby if you switch off the ignition but don't remove the key the radio will stay on for a set period - normally about an hour in the Superb.

Mine does the same as yours and I think this has something to do with the traffic report memory that your radio has. When it is on and you have TP set it saves traffic reports so that you can hear them back if you did not catch them - not quite sure how it works cos I have never used it. There are several settings for this feature including saving the last 2 hours- which is I think what your radio is telling you. If you look in the radio manual (not car handbook) under TP or Traffic it should explain it.

You can tailor the Symphony radio setup so it either stays on or goes off when the ignition key is removed. In the setup (hold TP switch for 4 secs) it's the KEY ON/OFF parm.

Personally not noticed a 2H but will certainly be looking more closely at the h/u this evening for one.

thanks very much for all the replies:thumbup:

The display should read TIM 2h. If you've had the traffic announcements enabled then TIM records all announcments for the next two hours. It can also be manually toggled for 24h. I can't remember how offhand - check the manual. It won't remember them all for 2h/24h - it bins the oldest ones when the memory runs out.

I noticed that recording function in the manual for my OctyII Stream radio. How do you play them back then?

On the Fabia Symphony you press the AIM button then use the usual CD controls to skip between recordings.

I don't have an AIM button
