Why did they make a special edition?

Featured Replies

So yeah, why did Skoda make a special edition Fabia?

I'd compare it to an anniversary golf etc which is obviously why it was made but why the Fabia?

Mine was registered on the 7/7/07 which is good I suppose :D

To sell?

It was a run-out model that used up a lot of unsold expensive optional leather seat covers.

Unique colour, privacy glass and a CD changer. Nothing that really added much to the cost, but the perceived value was high.

They had too many undersized batteries  and blue paint laying around?

Hmm,i just wondered thats all, no birthday or somthing then!

Yup. And a load of vRS parts, fabia shells, and PD130 engines.

You will often see "special editions" at the end of production from manufacturers. They do it to try and use up left over parts etc when they bring out a new model.

The Clio Campus springs to mind in about the same year. Old Style Clio with a different looking tailgate on;

There was a cross over between the Campus version and the new one... but again they had a load of old Clio parts to get rid of!

Because blue

Haha. As above, a run out of the model, the last thousand made, quite a good sales gimmick really if you ask me: 'last chance to get your hands on a new Fabia VRS'

Add an extra thousand or more on the new price tag too I suspect.

Because us Skoda drivers are suckers for a bit of race blue lol
