When I press the key fob the drivers door doesn't lock or unlock , the other doors and boot work ok .

I can still use the key to lock the drivers door and the rest lock and unlock and the alarm arms and disarms .

looking for some advice as to what could be wrong and will be pricy to repair

Not sure if this could be affected due to wires breaking in the door loom! It depends I guess, on where the locking system gets its power from the sender to open the doors. If it comes from inside the door its-self, then its unlikely to be a wire broken in the door loom but if its powered from anywhere other then there, its likely. Many Fabia's have had a wire in the door loom snap when being faced with opening closing doors, fracturing the wires. Just a thought!
