Knocking/rattle

Featured Replies

Gave it a wash yesterday and blasted the hose round the arch liners as i done the wheels. Now i have an annoying rattle/knocking from the front drivers side. Its audible when driving slowly over bumps / uneven suface. Dunno if its anything to do with the water i blasted round there but seems a bit coincidental.

My car has had the same thing too and its doing my head in.... keep meaning to get it checked out but not had time.

I have a feeling its my bushes and CV joint. I think its just coincidence that your car has started doing it after a jet wash, it was probably doing it before but never noticed.

If you get it sorted let me know if you do before me

You're just going to have to get the front end off the ground and check for excessive play and get a bar and lever some of the key places. Could be a cv joint, be tempted to think inner joint if you've not noticed any graunchy noises on full lock? Could be a lot of things though, wishbone bushes and arb bushes are quite a common failure so I'd focus on these particularly the arb. More investigation required me thinks.

Should have marked this as solved. Its the daft rad mounts. Just need a decent bodge as no chance i can be assed to replace them
