Can you please explain further. Is the rear light the boot light flashing? and where is the beep coming from?

Initially sounds like your car battery is on the way out - but first you need to make sure it's charging OK (measure voltage with engine running) and double check you don't have an excessive drain from something (eg bootlight)

The "rear light", do you mean the boot light or the rear seat lights in the roof?

I thought the boot light and removable torch were the same.

If the LED torch is flashing and the car battery is flat then these two issues will be connected. When the battery begins to fail you'll notice some strange behaviour.

The beeping from the rear is a little strange, the only buzzer in the back would be from an aftermarket tow bar (beeping to signal the trailer indicators are working).

Unless the automatic boot has a beeper to signal a fault etc?

A beeping from the front without any other warning (dash light or warning in the dash display) would suggest a low battery warning.

Sounds to me as though the battery is at the end of it's life, which isn't surprising given the number of complaints on here about the low specification battery's being fitted to Skoda's recently.

Hi

The beep is coming from the compartment (there’s a little pull down door thing) in the boot just behind the light if you stick your head in it it behind the cloth? Fabric of the compartment. I even took the light off as  i was convinced there was a compartment behind the light. The flashing is the removable torch (boot light)?? I have decided to get the varta 77a battery as the car seems quite sluggish and has been fault, however this am it was fine after charge. , But left for 5min it went flat again.

Thank you

Good choice the Varta is a good battery, especially if you went for the E44 which at 77Ah it sounds like you did.

I second the choice of a Varta battery. My old 2003 Superb I 1.9 pd was (and still is ) still on it's original Varta battery - not bad for 12 years and 170k miles

" as the car seems quite sluggish "

Hi,

Does this mean sluggish to turn over on the starter motor or sluggish to drive?

If sluggish to turn over then it's probably the battery
