Hi can someone please give me some advise on my 2006 skoda octavia 2.0FSI 4x4 when reversing it while turning the steering wheel something made a loud pop noise now car pulls to the right quite hard. But now when turning the steering wheel whithout moving anywhere it makes a strange grinding noise ?

Hi, if you post in the (i presume its a..) mk2 octavia section the guys there will advise. This area is for problems/issues with the actual website rather than cars.

But id say the bang was steering rack failure? Were you steering on a full lock when it happened? The rack may be pushed off centre now thus the pulling.

The grinding is probably the power assistance pump/motor ( i dont know if you have hydraulic or electric power steering) gearing crunching itself into oblivion - "dry steering" puts the most strain on as the tyres are fighting friction with no help from the tyre rotating.
