RClick Remote Central Locking - Boot Open Wire?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've successfully fitted an rclick KE851HC kit to my Fabia MPI Comfort. All works fine (indicators, locking, window auto-up), now I just need to get the button on the remote that opens the boot to operate.

Looking at the rclick manual, it's the red/black wire on their loom, so that's fine, but I'm not sure what wire to splice it to in the car. Looking at my Haynes wiring diagram, I see a couple of possibilities listed (on diagram 8 - central locking):

- #84 Tailgate handle release switch (6 way connector K, pin 6, red/green)

- #85 Central locking (switch in tailgate lock) (6 way connector K, pin 3, brown/black)

- #86 Tailgate/boot locking motor (6 way connector O, pin 5, green/red)

I've read conflicting info about whether the wire from the rclick needs to directly drive the motor, or active the switch so that the Electrical System Control Unit can do it itself - has anyone successfully managed this?

Also, once I know which wire, any idea where it is? Afraid I don't understand where connector O or K are, don't think the control unit's labelling matches the lettering...

Thanks!

The wiring digram, in case it helps. I'm suspecting I may need to stick a relay in that connects both sides of the boot switch :/

Got this working today. For the benefit of anyone else who may try this:

- Get a standard 12v automotive relay.

- Connect pin 86 to the red+black wire on the RClick unit.

- Connect pins 85 and 87 to earth.

- Connect pin 30 to the red+green wire that is in the smaller of the two red connector blocks on the control unit in the car. This is the wire that leads to the boot release handle button on the boot itself.

Job done. You need to hold the button on the remote for ~3 seconds and then the boot will pop undone.

If you are using a 5-prong relay (one that includes a pin 87a), just leave that one unconnected, you could have used a 4-prong one instead but it won't do any harm.

Hey friend, could you please send a copy of the full wiring diagram supplied with the Rclick manual (Skoda Fabia) with the color codes for the loom? I'm stuck with a remote control unit. Do you think it is possible to hack the Central lock/unlock and boot release button close to the gear shift lever to get the remote unit working in my Fabia? Or the loom hack will be better..... Thanks in advance :)
