Problems in my mk1 vrs

Featured Replies

Hello guys I know it's always the same stuff but I have a few problems , my batterie is draining power every two days even 1day not boot light , changed brake switch as in earlier posts still draining any ideas .? Next limp mode got a p1171 angle sensor 2 , throttle actuator j338 under voltage is this the maf ?? And a abs front right g45 although it's new ?? And lastly a bit of damp in car any suggestion would be great cheers

The code relates to the throttle body itself, rather than the MAF, you could try a throttle body adaptation with VCDS, but usually when people get this code, it means either a wiring fault if you are lucky, or a new throttle body. This should give you more info - http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/17579/P1171/004465

Just out of interest, how old is your battery?

For the ABS sensor, are you sure that the toothed signal ring is clear of debris and not damaged in any way, inevitably corrupting the signal along the way?.

For the damp, we need more info please, front, rear or boot?.

It just got new Bach hub and abs sensors front and back but I will check .

If you are certain the ring is undamaged after you do your checks, and making the assumption that the new sensor is not faulty, which you can easily check with a multi meter once the car is in the air with a wheel off, then the fault may well be in the connecting loom. You used to be able to get a repair loom from Skoda dealers which was fairly reasonable which you could solder in and sort the problem.

I haven't had one in a while, but I can't see why they would not still be available to order, as I doubt the dealers do many mk1's on a regular basis any more.

For the damp, check around the hinge mounts for the tailgate and the aerial up near the headlining to see if there is any sign of wetness there.

Is your radio standard Skoda or aftermarket unit?.
