Key

Does the FL Yeti still have the same shape/style key as the pre-FL?

Yes

No!

There are thousands of variations

Only difference is it has a smaller badge/emblem on it, This has to be removed to uncover the screw that holds the fob together if you need to change the battery.

The older type just prized apart.

No!

Yes, one would hope that there are!

Thanks guys.

I agree that the pre and FL key-fobs are the same basic shape.

Coincidentally, I replaced the battery on TIBET III's key fob at the weekend. The fob design is slightly different to the pre-FL type (certainly mine one is but it is a KESSY one which may differ) in how it comes apart in comparison to the helpful YouTube offerings although it looked the same externally.

No need to remove a badge or unscrew it, the cover just flicked off - as detailed in the Yeti owner's manual. Battery used is now a CR2032.

BTW, I changed the battery as the KESSY was intermittently not allowing the doors to open. It never failed by pressing the button on the key fob, only when using the 'touch' mode and normally after (successfully) opening the tailgate. Word on the street was change the battery and certainly tonight it worked okay - time will tell if it's cured.

As a PS to my previous post - one week on after the key fob battery change, KESSY has returned to total normality. TIBET III is now 22 months and 25k miles old. So, my advice if anyone has KESSY that is playing up, is to take the easy, cheap option in the first instance and replace the key bob battery - the owner's manual tells you how to do it.

A new battery seems to solve quite a few problems in one way or another.
