SOLD - Brand new 3 spoke MFSW & DSG paddles

Featured Replies

I have a new (4 miles old!) Leather 3 spoke Multi Function steering wheel c/w DSG paddles.

Did you forget to order flappy paddles on your new car?

Will fit (to my knowledge) all the new cars currently on sale by Škoda and possibly some of the older models.

Looking for £200 posted by special delivery etc (signed for) or £180 collected from Folkestone Kent

(does not come with the airbag, but all buttons / DSG paddles ARE present)

Interesting, don't need one right now though. Q?, what did you replace it with?

Ah ha, makes sense, but why?

We have driven a few cars with similar steering wheels, & they felt a bit odd, although with 2 turns lock to lock it might not be a problem.

It wouldn't suit the 3 turns on my Superb 2 though.

Brings back 'orrible memories of the Allegro Quartic wheel.

The FBSW is actually no smaller in diameter, but I personally prefer the perforated leather they come with, the fact it has a flat bottom didn’t bother me one way or the other but when I ordered it they were nearly half the price of a round perforated leather wheel.

GLWTS

I have the same steering wheel as your existing steering wheel, is the flat bottom end steering wheel just a simple bolt on & off job?As I too would like to change over the steering wheel for the newer type, I presume the Airbag from the existing wheel will go straight in to the new wheel & just re-plug all the wires in for the buttons etc...

Any VCDS coding required?

Thanks

Providing your current wheel is multi function then no coding is required at all:

Release airbag clips (flat screwdriver needed) you need to do this 1st as the steering wheel needs to be turned to release each clip.

Disconnect battery

Disconnect the airbag

Remove the spline bolt

Swap wheels over

Refit spline bolt

Have a cuppa (to make sure the battery has been disconnected for about 20 mins)

Reconnect airbag and clip it back in place

Connect battery

Reset clock etc

Drive a short distance (literally just a few feet - but turn the steering wheel) to reset sensors / warning lights due to the battery being disconnected

Yeah I have the MF wheel  :D Thanks for the info Gizmo68  Going to check around (Ebay) for a flat bottom steering wheel.

I will have it if it will fit my 2015 Yeti - or is it for the latest platform cars only? And is any extra wiring needed for the flappy paddles?

It will certainly fit the Yeti as it is identical to our L&K F/L Yeti wheel (other than ours is a manual so no flappy paddles)

Rockhopper had a DSG wheel retro fitted to his Yeti but i’m not sure if it was just coding or any additional wiring was needed, I will try and search later today)

TY. I have access to an very experienced Audi technician so will give it a go. PM sent.

Might need one of these shortly as well :)

Gizmo - can you do me a favour and list the part number for this wheel, just so I have a reference when the time comes. Cheers.
