Roof rail caps

Featured Replies

So lost a roof rail cap yesterday in the wind. Did not really know it was an issue before doing a search on here.

I wan't to glue the other 3 on before anything happened to then. Can anyone tell me what way/angle I should be removing and replacing to I don't bust any lugs etc on the existing ones.

Thanks

Glenn

Be careful when working on these thermoplastic parts in cold weather.

Same happened to mine, twice. In the end dealer contacted Skoda and they advised on the use of a certain adhesive, don't know what it was but your dealer should be able to find out from Skoda.

Casco Marine & Teknik should do.

Thanks yeti'ist. So looking at the PDFs I take it you just pull these upwards

Correct!

And a little blob of Bostik Clear seems to cure the problem afterwards

Well got my replacement roof rail cap and glued it on.

Also took the other 3 off and glued them on as well. 1 was not on that well and clearly already had a broken plastic lug. Hopefully glueing the other lugs will keep it in place.

Bit of a pants design really
