Spark plug gap

Featured Replies

What should the gap be on the spark plugs?

Thanks in advance

Well.

It was 0.8mm with OEM NGK / VW Plugs.

Now i believe that is 0.7mm   (someone might confirm please.)

Bluespark Tuning have recommended with a Tuning box that you set at 0.6mm

So sorry, not a very good answer.

I run DENSO Spark Plugs with a Standard car or a Stage 1 @ 0.8mm

Ok cheers did you get the picture I put on my other post after my cousin plugged a diagnostic kit in?

When mine was replaced last month the gap was 0.8mm.

Was that a Skoda Dealership replacing the latest recommended NGK plugs.

Did you ask the Technician and did he say that is what they come at and as Skoda / VW recommend?

Yes skoda dealership changed them they only covered 13000 miles and were less than 2 years old so they changed them under parts warranty not extended warranty. I specifically asked them the type which are NGK and are gapped as to skoda recommendations of 0.8mm. [emoji106]

The diagnostic computer said I had a random multiply misfire on cylinder one, when I changed the spark plugs I didn't adjust the gap atal? What are your views on this?

Sorry, do you mean when you changed them previously you just put them in unchecked?

That is not so good really, best to check, but usually the issue is one has closed by being knocked, so not too big a gap,

but you always really need to check.

So this time, have you looked at all 4 plugs yet, cylinder 1's plug first?

Or are you saying you just put new plugs in now and never checked them?

When I previously changed then just put them straight in didn't gap them or nothing?

But my cousin is gunna get them out and check the gaps tomorrow car is not being used in the meantime anyway
