R222 Wax

Featured Replies

Just received the R222 wax (blue lid) from clean your car, paid on saturday & received, this morning  great service.

Now that I have brought this wax to replace my Pete's 53 wax as its nearly finished & thought to try something different for the Race Blue Vrs ;)

Has anyone used the R222 wax & what is your thoughts, watched a few youtube videos & the R222 does seem very good but anyone used it on there Skoda or more so on their Race Blue

Cheers

Morning buddy,

I've used R222 on my rallye green vRS and it's absolutely outstanding for the money.

A proper dedicated show wax so durability is slightly affected. Other than that it's great to use. To don't use it in direct sunlight as it can be a bit of a pain to get off. [emoji4]

Great choice of wax - i think you will be happy with the results.

R222 products were one of my first ventures away from AutoGlym HD wax.

I have both the Blue lid and Silver lid R222 waxes in the collection.

As Karl says above - dont expect long term durability, but certainly amazing gloss on a well prepared car.

Also - it is not the easiest to use; try not to leave too long - as when it dries out - buffing can be a pain.

So perhaps 2 - 3 panels applied at anyone time then go back and buff off would be my recommendation.

Let us know how you get on ... and post some pics

Cheers for the info KarlvRS  I definitely will not be using it in the sun  :sun: I did read a few reviews from people saying it can last between 3-4 months? but I suppose that's down to weather conditions etc, as long as the protection is quite good & it does its job just as good as Pete's 53, I'm sure I will be happy with it, Roll on the weekend :D

Hi Samuir

Thanks for the advise  good to know there's people on here that have already used & like the wax, I only ever do 2 panels at a time & when I have finished applying the wax to the 2nd panel, I then buff off the 1st panel ;) then apply the 3rd panel & buff off the 2nd panel & repeat but that is also depending on the size of the panels I'm doing at that moment in time.

Will post some Pics if the weather is nice over the weekend, not too sunny & definitely not raining, just about shady weather ;)

Helped a friend prep up a recently purchased car for his girlfriend.

Loaned him my R222.... And after 2 coats applied... Wow!

One of my earliest wax purchases and still amazes me!

Great value product giving show wax results! :)

It certainly is.... just needs a slightly lower temperature on the panels

to make it an enjoyable wax to use. Otherwise - just done leave it to dry out.

Interesting that i have seen a few wax reviews recently - via Youtube and other forums;

and two of these R222 was used as the comparison product to gauge performance/gloss/etc.

One of my favourite waxes - although benefits from cool panels for application.
