Cruise control and engine knock worries

Featured Replies

As titled I've currently got a fault on my cruise control and would like some advise.

The car is a 1.6tdi cr 2011

When you press the cruise control it does nothing, but when you hold the button the light flashes but it still nothing. The car was not long ago remaped if that's any issue.

The second thing is a knock /pinking on acceration this has been on a while,my partner has a polo 1.6tdi cr and it's no were as noisy as mine.

Any advise would be good .

You say it has been this way for a while,

but do you mean since the remap only, or did you have a problem before that and never resolved it?

Did the Cruise Control work OK before the remap?

& did it work after and now has stopped working?

Best talk with whoever Mapped it.

? Who did map it?

Might just want enabling again after the map.

When I think back I'm sure it was knocking before the map.

As for the cruise control I've only noticed that it's not working the past few weeks.

It was remapped in December but I hardly use the cc

Been reading that there's software updates regarding the issue I'm getting on the knock/tap on acceleration. It's never been to a dealership for a service so it possibly needs a update on the injectors. Would anyone know if this would effect my map?

Depends if it's an ECU update or the calibration of the injectors themselves. I'm sure it's the later which will be fine.

Not sure on how much they will charge though.

I'm going to check on a diagnostic computer tomorrow to see if I can read the injectors values. Unfortunately I haven't got access to vag com and I work in landrover and the computers there are solely for them

Yeah, I don't think SDD will do that for you.

There is a program on ODIS where you enter the serial numbers off the top of the injectors and enter them in. I'm 99% sure it's a dealer job.
