Radio STREAM - not playing CD's (control module fault) ?

My Stream radio doesn't play any CD, when a CD is inserted, it says CD ERROR. Tried with numerous CD's. 

 

VCDS shows "Control module fault". 

 

Anybody had similar problem? 

 

Any solutions besides changing the whole unit?  :sweat:

I use to get that only if the CD was scratched or the headunit had been playing for a few hours
