CDs fading sound??

I have upgraded everything bar the header unit in my octy vrs, but recently i have been driving along and the CD seems to stop, though it doesn't jump or skip, its like the speaker is momentarily unpugged, then it carries on as normal...

Anyone had similar or know the solution? Gues its header out when i get chance, but was kind of hoping it might be a recognised problem??
