Hi there,

 

Having some issues with my head unit, had the exact same issues about 6 months ago and the unit was replaced under warranty.

 

However the new unit is now experiencing the same issues.

 

Out of warranty now so just wondering if anyone had any idea what might have caused the exact same issue to a different head unit.

 

Here is a list of what has happened:

 

No sound from the head unit at all.

 

When you turn the volume knob, on screen shows the volume bar but it does not move

 

When you touch the touch screen it's completely unresponsive or takes a very long time (up to 10 minutes) to switch to your selection

 

These are the exact same issues as last time.

 

Any ideas?

I should think it's failed again, but I'm not sure why 2 units would fail in the same way. Rather strange.

What car have you got it fitted in just for information purposes.

Hmmm, not good. It's the fact they've both failed in the exact same way that makes me concerned. If i pop in another head unit at my expense and there's actually another underlying problem then i may break that one also.

I can't see anything affecting the head unit to fail in such a way really. Unless it's overheating due to some issue causing excess heat around the unit maybe.
