Squeak from dashboard

Featured Replies

Hi, my 2007 vRS has had a squeak coming from the dashboard (N/S, at the base of the A pillar) for a while now and it's really bugging me! And no, before you ask, it's not a mouse. It's more of creaky sort of sound, almost like Geiger counter or something. Anyway, I've tried shoving various thicknesses of things (old credit cards, guitar picks, small wedges of wood!) in the join where dashboard meets door pillar but nothing seems to cure it. A squirt of silicone grease works for about ten minutes but soon rubs off.

Has anyone had a similar problem and managed to find a cure?

Might be daft but have you checked your tyre pressures

Reason I say this is I had this issue and I topped them up and it hasn't been back

Exactly the same I had on both of our Octavia's.

Lining the front edge of that dash side panel with velcro fuzz did the trick. Many thanks for the tip!
