Problem 1 - My Tiny laptop went wrong and when I re-installed XP the sound stopped working. This is annoying as you can probably undersatand. Whats even more annoying is that I dont have the foggiest how to rectify this problem. I am opposed to the

A lot of laptops use AC97 sound drivers which you should be able to find online.

Another suggestion (and you've probably done this) is to hunt out the drivers CD that should have come with the laptop as that should have the relevant sound and graphics drivers.

Failing that have you looked in device manager to see if there are any hints there - it may have recognised some of the hardware but not found the drivers.
