Hello, can I come in?

Featured Replies

New to the world of Skoda, or will be when my recently ordered Superb SE L Executive arrives in 12 -16 weeks! This will be a replacement for a Mercedes E class as I have finally seen the error of my ways LOL. From the test drive and what I am reading I am not going to miss the Merc, which is one of the most uncomfortable cars I've owned.

Welcome along. In what way was the merc uncomfortable?

The seats compared to previous Mercedes I have owned were hard (lack of padding on the seat base), which in turn means that you feel every bump, and this is the Avantgarde spec, not sport! After about 1.5 hours of motoring my wife is constantly shuffling about trying to get comfortable. Don't get me wrong, it is a superb car, but you should be able to drive it all day and not have a problem with comfort. So time to do away with the badge snobbery and buy a car for practical reasons, As I said, I am certain I won't be disappointed by the Skoda.

In my mind Mercedes have forgotten what made them into a leading luxury brand, that been understated elegance and comfort (with a hint of sportiness with certain models) and have concentrated on a new market that demands sporty driving styles.

Welcome to the forum!  Interesting comments about the Merc.  What engine did you go for in the Superb?

2.0 tdi 190. After the 3.0 v6 merc diesel I felt the 150 may have been a step to far ☺

Very nice.  There will be plenty of power with 400nm of torque :)  Hopefully they wait isn't too bad!
