Front caliper slide pins on a Fabia 2008 with Lucas calipers had a major  problem with the lower pins sticking and one side was binding badly, took the carrier off and it took quite a bit to get the  pins  out, seems the rubber on one  pin is perished and fouling in the carrier hole cannot leave the rubber off as pin is then too loose in carrier.

 

Looked for a replacement pin set not available, you have to spend a fortune and buy the carrier to get a set of new pins, looked on Bigg Red and the website is down for maintenance (since Thursday ?) they do not sell the pins but list a rubber seal kit for £27 which looks like it contains caliper seal kit for both sides the small rubber sleeves for the 2 lower pins and a set of 4 rubber bellows for all 4 pins but at the moment cannot buy them.

I then  tried top pin in bottom carrier hole and seems to fit ok so could possibly use a plain pin instead of the pin with rubber sleeve on, found a set of pins and 2 rubber sleeve covers that was listed for TRW  calipers on EBay but these pins are £50 for 2 wow what the hell is going on

 

Does anyone know where you can get a reasonable priced set of pins that would fit? surely there must be a set that fits this type of caliper that doesn't cost a fortune to replace.

 

Have put brake back together for now and used a small rubber tube for now it's working ok but would like to make it 100%

No idea where you could find pins but you may find rubber parts here.

Not sure if these pins are suitable. There is a compatibility checker.

Thanks but already tried EBay found some pins and rubbers there that said would fit but at £50 for 1 pair I think not !!!

I have found a TRW part ST1526 pin set for £5 .76  a set but again £14 delivery charge and no information given that they are for front calipers.

 

I'll try Bigg Red again in the week and see if I can get hold of a rubber repair kit, I have sent an e-mail to company about a set of TRW pins with this ST1526 number for more information as they show  a part number 443948 but not 100%  sure that they are the right ones they might be rear caliper pins which look the same but are a different length

 

I know you can get the pins with the carriers but come on £120 for a pair and delivery on top  just to get some slide pins.

Surely they must put these pins  on other models it's just finding which one !!!
