Hello Everyone,

Hope you all good.

Owner of an old Octavia.

You will be pleased to know im not the sort to join a forum just because they have a problem.

Picked the car up last thursday havent had a problem yet.

Well apart from the battery was dead the friday morning.Jumped from another battery.

Saturday charged up started ok. Checked charging voltage 16 volts.(ok thats not going to help the battery.)

Sunday new Alternator fitted. No different.

Today  checked wiring.seemed ok.

Charge light doing as it should do.

Well like I said im not one to join a forum when there's a problem.

Oh just to let you know found the problem the battery.

Not the car (yes its shot but not the cause of over voltage.)but in the meter i was using.

Boy do i feel stupid. cost of an alternator instead of a £2.00 pp3 battery.

Hello Craig  :hi:

Nevermind - nice new alternator and you can keep the PP3 for just in case it needs a jump start again  :notme:
