Wheel refurb-what colour?

Featured Replies

So after much dithering I've decided to hang on to my mk2 but decided to lavish some cash on it and get my wheels refurbed.

So the question is do I stay silver?

Thoughts......

That car will look lovely with black chrome.  I'll get some pics of mine, 2 mins.

My preference would be bright silver on it

Thanks guys, liking the black chrome, I'll have to ask, otherwise probably a bright silver :)

I got mine done from The Wheel Specialist for £250. Original quote is £400 but they always reduce it if you simply ask what they can do. As you can see, they dropped mine quite a bit and I'm led to believe that £250 is the going rate for a good powder coating job.

Well they don't do powder coating but will do me a cash price of £180 for all 4 wheels, going for safe silver

Mind sooner these spare wheels go the better

Oem silver looks spot on! I like anthracite/darker grey too but might be a bit too similar to the body colour.

Don't think it's OE silver as he said it'd have more 'sparkle' in it

The standard colour silver should have a flake of sparkle through them.

I got my alloys refurbished in January and went for standard colour.

There's definitely a metallic flake through them. I will post some pics when I get home. As they're on my old memory card.

I'm with Mike in not being a fan of black wheels at all, even more so on a black car, they just lose all definition and you can't even see the wheel pattern or anything ... My cars a petrol blue, I believe it's official colour is satin grey, and I'd love to get the wheels done but I'd be going for a nice bright silver to accent the cars colour.
