Power steering light

Featured Replies

Hi guys, Just fitted a new battery couple of days ago, took car out today and power steering light (orange) is on, Turned wheel a few times and drove around but the light won't go off, Plugged code reader in and it shows no codes,,Any ideas?

Try and drive a good distance in a straight line. Mine goes off after about 200 yds

I drove about 4 to 5 miles today, and it didn't put the light off..

Thanks Mike, I've got VCDS  so i'll have a look at that, The car is in for an MOT next Friday, If i don't get this sorted out by then, Will it fail the MOT with the light on??      Just noticed in the paragraph above-------''Verify all of the WSS (Wheel Speed Sensor) values are plausible in the 03-ABS controller! We received feedback from both Mk70 equipped and MK60 ESP equipped (1K) Golf models with 02546 and 00778 DTCs that would not clear due to a faulty WSS''                     I've got an ABS fault on the rear offside wheel which has shown up as mechanical when i scanned the car which means Hub bearing with the ABS incorporated in it, Will this have anything to do with the power steering light coming on??
