Lots of tiny chips on windscreen

Featured Replies

Just noticed this today after giving it a good clean and then the sun coming out afterwards.

I have tons of these but they're tiny, so I assume the windscreen is safe? And can the chips be polished out?

Live with it or wait until it gets accidentally damaged so you have to replace it. Small scratches can be polished out but anything deeper or chips need a lot of work and material removed causes distortion.

The worst ones you can get filled but again they don't disappear completely.

Thanks. Might try to polish the screen to see if it makes an improvement. The chips are so small in depth that it might work.

Your screen is not just clear glass and you are likely to end up with a lot worse than a star spangled screen in bright sun.

Maybe best leave alone until you have that little accident and get a replacement screen.
