warning lights

Featured Replies

Firstly apologies if this is repeat, but searching through hundreds of pages is soul destroying.

I have 2012 Fabia Combi 1.6 TDI. It was ok till a week or so when the glow plug warning light came on, followed by the exhaust light and an other one the engine management I think. The car went into a garage today, the mechanic seems fairly competent and has dealt with previous Fabias. however I am getting worried that his diagnostic machines are not perhaps unique enough to ascertain the problem. To get to a Skoda garage is a 50 mile round trip and previous experience of their handling of matters when the car was still under warranty has made me cautious in going there. I get a sense from some of the  posts that these warning lights are more common than I thought. Any thoughts on any of these problems, the car has not done 40,000 miles yet, and I'm worried that a major engine fault has developed.

Thanks

Similar happened to me turned out to be egr valve has destroyed itself €400 in Ireland but after a bit of emails back and forward skoda Ireland covered parts and half the labour and garage did the rest
